Massage Parlors
Massage parlors fall into two categories: those that actually provide a professional
therapeutic massage (very few) and those that are for sex
(most).
Most of the massage parlors that provide sexual services are
located in 'rough' areas, providing low cost services to locals
and foreigners. Several new, upper scale, massage parlors have
opened in the last year or so in more prestigious neighborhoods,
complete with sauna, steam and comfortable and clean rooms, and
more important, security for their customers.
A typical massage parlor will have a few to many girls available
to customers who are looking for a brief encounter. A waiting
room will host a variety of girls which customers can choose
from.
Those
massage parlors that cater mainly to locals and don't offer much
in the way of additional services and comforts charge in the
3.000 to 6.000 colones for a typical ½ hour session.
Upper scale parlors offer private showers, lockers for your
belongings, steam, sauna and a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
Prices ranges from as low as 8.000 colones fo ½ hour to as much
as 20.000 colones for a full one hour session.
Prices are generally quoted in ½ hour and 1 hour sessions.
However, you ask for more time and a change of girl if you so
choose. We have heard of stories of guys spending hours with one
girl!
On this page we
only list those most commonly visited by foreigners and locals
alike.
It is believed that there are over 140 massage
parlors in San Jose alone.
Most are licensed - that is in conformity with the local laws
and regulations regarding their particular business - to others
who are constantly being harassed by the authorities.
The quality and beauty of their girls also varies, so don't be
shy to check out as many of the different locations and multiple
times, as the girls cum and go, only to re-appear another
day.
Also, holidays like Mother's Day (Aug. 15 in Costa Rica) brings
out a bunch of fresh and new faces, usually from small towns,
that work only for a certain period and then fade back
into their normal lives.

hostesses/operators of the business, to more than
25 massage parlors in the downtown area, both in
the South and North districts of San José.
Each Walking Tour group is not larger than 5
persons and given by an experienced monger, who
not only knows the massage parlors, but also the
girls and can make recommendations.
As part of the Walking Tour, we have negotiated
with selected operators to add an extra 15 minutes
to you session to all those who have taken the
Walking Tour with us.
