Safe Sex and Condoms
We are an advocate of safe
sex, always use a condom. The
true incidence of sexually
transmitted disease (STD) and
AIDS is not readily available in
Costa Rica, but you can be
assured that it is not any less,
from where you come from.
Safe sex and the use of the
condom is both yours and her
responsibility. Sure it doesn't
feel the same, we know. However,
taking risks such as not using a
condom is like dipping your
"johnson" in a beehive. You
wouldn't do that, so why would
you... Ok, enough, you get the
picture.
Contrary to popular belief and
anything else you have read on
the internet about medical check
ups, there is no regulation or
standard that requires sex
workers to get a medical check
up or require to have a health
certificate. Some strip clubs
and massage parlours insist on
the women working their
establishment to submit to a
regular medical check, but that
is a personal decision and not
one that is required by law.
